Arthur Kriticos loses his loving wife in a terrible house fire and is forced to raise his two children Kathy and Bobby on his own, with the help of a nanny Maggie. The Kriticos family financially struggles and lives in a little, cramped-up apartment, so it is no wonder they are all ecstatic when the news of their uncle's death comes in and the Kriticos' inherit an amazing glass-house with constantly shifting walls containing strange Latin encryptions.

What they do not know is that their uncle Cyrus was an eccentric ghost-buster capturing and trapping tormented souls in the house, getting killed in the process of capturing the twelwth ghost. The only one who seems to know what is going on in the house is Rafkin, a psychic which helped Cyrus catch the angry ghosts.

Rafkin tries to warn Arthur, who is too stunned by his miraculous luck and the exquisite house to care. But when his children disappear in the dark basement corridors, he is determined to find them. Rafkin gives him special glasses to see the house's gruesome inhabitants - suddenly Arthur believes.

With all the exits sealed up, the terrifying deadly ghosts are freed one by one to attack the family. Arthur understands - he has to find his children and get out of the house before it is too late - before the angry poletrgeists force them to make one last sacrifice.
